The Timbuk2 Tuck offers a few options for reflectivity, such as a vista loop on back to hold a safety light and wide, glove-friendly reflective zipper pulls. The Timbuk2 Tuck also comes with a lifetime warranty from Timbuk2. The zippers are large and sturdy however the single plastic buckle that secures the roll-top to the pack is made from a lightweight plastic that feels cheap and force is needed to buckle it securely. The Timbuk2 Tuck is constructed with a lightweight durable polyester fabric. They are too tight to hold a one-liter water bottle or bike u-lock. The Timbuk2 Tuck also has two unsecured side pockets but our tester found their use limited. On the Timbuk2 Tuck’s exterior is a secure zippered pocket that works well for holding a bike lock, wallet or other items that need to be accessed quickly. The laptop sleeve is also accessible via an exterior side zipper however, the zippered opening is too small to insert or extract a laptop that is larger than fifteen inches and the padding is so minimal that accidentally dropping the bag could damage a laptop.Ī zippered stealth pocket on the side can hold small, flat items like cash or identification. Because of the minimal padding on the back panel, objects that are hard with sharper edges will poke through and reduce comfort. However the lack of breathability in the back panel during long distance rides in hot, humid weather will decrease comfort. The back panel conformed to our tester’s back, making the pack relatively comfortable even with a laptop inside. While the Timbuk2 Tuck does not offer a hip belt, its shoulder straps contain enough padding to make them comfortable under moderate (ten pound) loads.
